David Moyes insisted Jack Grealish can work his way back into the Everton squad after a disciplinary issue.
Grealish can return to Everton squad, insists Moyes
Jack Grealish has missed Everton's last two games after a disciplinary issue, but David Moyes believes there is a way back for the winger.
Grealish was left out of the Everton squad for their EFL Cup win over Newcastle United last week after breaching the club's disciplinary procedures, with reports suggesting he missed a training session.
The 31-year-old also missed the Toffees' Premier League win over the Magpies on Monday, with both Moyes and the club stating it was due to a fitness issue.
This is Grealish's second loan spell with Everton, after also joining the Toffees on a season-long deal in 2025-26.
He scored two goals and provided six assists in 22 appearances last season before his campaign was cut short by a foot injury.
This term, Grealish has featured just six times and is yet to directly contribute to a goal.
"I've just said he wasn't available for tonight [Newcastle match]," Moyes said in his post-match press conference.
"I don't know yet [if he will be available for Friday's game against Coventry City]."
And when asked if there was a way back for Grealish, Moyes responded: "Of course there is."
Everton ended a nine-game run in the Premier League without an away win (D5 L4) by beating Newcastle 1-0 on Monday.
The Toffees have won all three meetings with Newcastle in 2026 in all competitions, as many wins as in their previous 12 encounters (D3 L6).
Since Moyes returned to Everton in January 2025, only Arsenal (31) and City (28) have kept more clean sheets in the Premier League than the Toffees (20).
